Cypheal Syrup is a combination medicine used to treat loss of appetite. It is an effective appetite stimulant. Cypheal Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Cypheal Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, and sorbitol, which revives appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of a chemical messenger (serotonin) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent which removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol as a result of which cholesterol level is lowered. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.
Does Cypheal Syrup cause dry mouth?
Yes, Cypheal Syrup can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. You may use lip balm if your lips are also dry.
Can Cypheal Syrup cause dizziness?
Yes, Cypheal Syrup can cause dizziness (feeling faint, weak, unsteady or lightheaded) in some patients. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, it is better to rest for some time and resume once you feel better. Do not drive or use any machines.
What are the recommended storage conditions for Cypheal Syrup?
Keep this medicine in its original container or package, tightly closed. Store according to the instructions on the pack or label. Discard any unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children, or other people.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Cypheal Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
