Byter-AL Tablet is used for the treatment of malaria in both children and adults. It contains two medicines both of which belong to a group of medicines called antimalarials. Byter-AL Tablet works by killing the malaria-causing parasites thereby preventing further spread of the infection. It should be taken with food as this will help your body better absorb the medicine. Take it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose as this may have harmful effects on your body. Complete the full course of treatment to make sure the infection is treated completely.
Byter-AL Tablet is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Artemether and Lumefantrine which treats malaria. These medicines work by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.
How to take Byter-AL Tablet?
Take Byter-AL Tablet with food, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. This medication is usually taken twice a day with meals for 3 days, or as directed. On your first day of treatment, take your first dose with food, followed by your second dose 8 hours later. Then, for the next 2 days, take one dose in the morning and one dose in the evening. Patients should be encouraged to resume normal eating as soon as food can be tolerated, since this improves the absorption of the medicine.
Can I take Byter-AL Tablet while I am pregnant?
No, Byter-AL Tablet is considered harmful for women in their first trimester of pregnancy. It increases the risk of fetal loss.
