Avuzine M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Avuzine M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Avuzine M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I give my child a cough and allergy medicine together if they have persistent cough along with allergic symptoms?
No, do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they often contain similar ingredients. This can lead to double dosing of active ingredients, resulting in serious side effects.
Should I decrease the dose of Avuzine M Syrup if my child starts feeling better?
No, adhere to the prescribed dosage by your child's doctor. Do not adjust the dose yourself, as it may impact their health. Decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.
How should Avuzine M Syrup be stored?
Avuzine M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to avoid accidental intake.
Can Avuzine M Syrup cause my child to feel sleepy?
Yes, Avuzine M Syrup can cause mild drowsiness, making your child feel sleepy. However, never give this medicine to induce sleep, as it could mask underlying sleep disorders like insomnia.
Should I start the course of Avuzine M Syrup if my child is an athlete and has a sports event in the next two days?
No, do not start Avuzine M Syrup without consulting your child's doctor. This medication can cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness, which may affect their performance.
Can I stop Avuzine M Syrup by myself?
No, sudden withdrawal of Avuzine M Syrup after a long-term use can lead to all symptoms reappearing. It's advised to stop this medicine gradually under the guidance of your child's doctor.
Is it safe to give Avuzine M Syrup to my child who suffers from a mood disorder?
Some studies show that Avuzine M Syrup can cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Consult your child's doctor before giving this medicine.
Can I use Avuzine M Syrup to treat acute asthma attacks in my child?
