Zerotuss LS Oral Drops is a combination medicine used to treat wet cough, acute sore throat, and asthma in children. It relieves throat irritation, clears congestion, and enables easy breathing. Zerotuss LS Oral Drops makes it easier for your child to cough out the mucus by increasing its water content and making it thin enough to be coughed out. Give this medicine to your child by mouth with or without food along with a full glass of water. If your child develops an upset stomach, prefer giving it with food. You may require to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks depending upon the severity of the infection. For maximum benefit, do not stop the medication abruptly by yourself even if your child starts to feel better and continue the medicine until the full prescribed course.
Zerotuss LS Oral Drops is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levosalbutamol, and Guaifenesin. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out. Levosalbutamol is a bronchodilator that works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and helps in its removal from the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.
Can I give Zerotuss LS Oral Drops to my child who is less than 6 years of age?
Yes, Zerotuss LS Oral Drops is suitable for children between 2 and 6 years of age. Your child's doctor may prescribe the dose depending on their body weight.
What if my child takes too much Zerotuss LS Oral Drops?
An overdose or prolonged intake of Zerotuss LS Oral Drops can cause serious side effects such as seizures, rapid heart rate, and excess salivation.
