Locort Cream is a topical steroid used for treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema. Can Locort Cream be used on the face?
No, Locort Cream should not be used on the face. Additionally, Locort Cream should not be applied to the armpit (axillae), groin, or to areas with tissue atrophy (wasting away of tissues). Under exceptional circumstances, use may be considered by a physician after consultation with a physician and only if necessary. Use is limited to a maximum of 5 days and only after consultation with your doctor.
Can we use Locort Cream in infections?
Locort Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication. Therefore, it should not be used for infections as it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infection. Bacterial infections can worsen if the infection is covered with dressing after using Locort Cream. If inflammatory lesions become infected, or there is a spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Locort Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
How to use Locort Cream?
Before applying Locort Cream, clean and dry the affected area. Gently massage it into the skin thoroughly. Avoid getting the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Locort Cream gets into your eyes accidentally, wash it with plenty of water and contact your doctor if you experience irritation.
Can I stop taking Locort Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue Locort Cream treatment even after your symptoms improve. Your symptoms may be better before the full course of treatment is completed. Stopping Locort Cream without completing the full dose can cause a recurrence of skin condition.
