Atonide-H Cream is a topical steroid used for treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory skin disorders such as eczema. It prevents the release of substances that cause inflammation and provides relief from swelling, redness, and itching in the affected area.
Atonide-H Cream is a steroid medicine which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
Can Atonide-H Cream be used on the face?
No, Atonide-H Cream should not be used on the face. Additionally, it should not be used on the axillae (armpits), groin or if there is atrophy (wasting away of tissues) at the treatment site. In certain circumstances, use by the doctor may be considered, but only after consultation with your physician and limited to a maximum of 5 days.
Can we use Atonide-H Cream in infections?
Atonide-H Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication that should not be used in infections as it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infection. Bacterial infections are prone to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Atonide-H Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Atonide-H Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
How to use Atonide-H Cream?
Before using Atonide-H Cream, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be careful not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Atonide-H Cream gets in your eyes accidentally, wash with plenty of water and call your doctor if you experience irritation.
Can I stop taking Atonide-H Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Atonide-H Cream and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Atonide-H Cream before your treatment is completed can bring back your symptoms of skin.
What are the precautions that need to be taken while using Atonide-H Cream?
Atonide-H Cream should not be used on the face. Do not use the medication for longer periods than you have been advised. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the preparation and increase the risk of side effects. This medicine should only be used when advised by the doctor and never given to other people even if their condition appears to be the same.
Who should not use Atonide-H Cream?
Atonide-H Cream should not be used in individuals with known allergies to Atonide-H Cream or any of its ingredients. Additionally, it should be avoided if there is a skin infection or eye infection as this can worsen the condition.
What should I do if I forget to use Atonide-H Cream?
If you forget to use Atonide-H Cream, do not worry and continue using it as soon as you remember. However, if you are not sure and have any other doubts, please consult your doctor.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
