Lacrimos Gel is an eye lubricant or artificial tears used to relieve dry eyes by maintaining proper lubrication of the eyes. Lacrimos Gel is usually taken when needed. Use the number of drops as advised by your doctor. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering any other medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Do not use a bottle if the seal is broken before you open it. Always wash your hands and do not touch the end of the dropper. This could infect your eye. This medicine may require long-term use and can be taken safely for as long as you need it.
Lacrimos Gel is a lubricant. It works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to dryness of the eye.
What is Lacrimos Gel used for?
Lacrimos Gel is a tear substitute that provides temporary relief from dryness and discomfort in the eyes. It also helps to lubricate and re-wet soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses, making it easier to wear them comfortably.
What are the possible side effects of Lacrimos Gel?
Some people may experience visual disturbances, eye discharge, or notice medication residue while using Lacrimos Gel. Other potential side effects include redness of the eye, eye irritation, burning and discomfort, eyelid swelling, and itching of the eye.
How should I store Lacrimos Gel?
To maintain the quality and safety of Lacrimos Gel, it is essential to store it at or below 25°C. Keep it out of reach of children and avoid touching the tip of the container to any surface. Replace the cap after every use and do not use the eye drops after the expiry date or 30 days of opening.
How should I use Lacrimos Gel?
For dry eyes, instil 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. To lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1 to 2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as needed or as directed by your doctor. Blink several times after pouring the drops.

Yes, Lacrimos Gel is a safe medicine when used correctly and as directed. However, some patients may experience eye irritation, burning, and discomfort. If any of these effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor immediately.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.
- Your doctor has prescribed Lacrimos Gel to treat dry eye disease.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.
- Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
