Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop is an artificial tear substitute that provides lubrication and relief from dryness, burning, irritation, and discomfort in the eyes. It can also be used to moisturize and re-wet soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.
What are the possible side effects of Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop?
Common side effects of this medication may include visual disturbances, eye discharge, redness, irritation, burning, discomfort, eyelid swelling, and itching. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
How should I store Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop?
Store the medication at a temperature of 25°C (77°F) or below, out of reach of children. Avoid touching the tip of the container to any surface or eye(s). Replace the cap after each use and do not use the drops beyond their expiration date or after 30 days of opening.
How should I use Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop?
For dry eyes, instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed. When using it to lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1-2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as directed by your doctor. After adding the drops, blink several times to spread them evenly. If unsure, consult your doctor.
Is Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop safe?
Lacrivisc DS 1% Eye Drop is a generally safe medication for external use. However, some patients may experience eye irritation (burning and discomfort), eye pain, itchy eyes, or visual disturbances. If any of these effects persist or worsen, please contact your doctor immediately.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

- It stabilizes the natural tear film and maintains necessary lubrication so your eyes don’t get dry and irritated.
- May require long-term use.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.
- Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
