L Citrimin Syrup is a medication used to treat various symptoms caused by allergic conditions in children, such as hay fever, urticaria, conjunctivitis, and common cold. L Citrimin Syrup is given to children to treat a wide range of symptoms caused due to allergic conditions like hay fever, urticaria (hives), conjunctivitis (red, itchy eye), and common cold. These symptoms may include watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching.
L Citrimin Syrup belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. It blocks the natural chemical substance (histamine) produced in the body during an allergic state. It also subsides (lowers) your child’s immune system’s response to these conditions thereby reducing the symptoms.
My child is restless and unable to sleep properly at night. Can I give L Citrimin Syrup?
It's important to consult a doctor before giving any medication to your child, especially regarding sleep issues. L Citrimin Syrup may cause drowsiness as a side effect, but it should not be given for inducing sleep. Other underlying medical conditions might contribute to the problem.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as L Citrimin Syrup?
It's essential to inform your child's doctor about any other medications or substances they are taking before starting L Citrimin Syrup. Additionally, it is crucial to seek guidance from a doctor regarding the administration of any medication to children, including potential interactions with existing treatments.
How much L Citrimin Syrup should I give to my child?
Dosage for L Citrimin Syrup must be determined by your child's doctor based on their weight and age. Never adjust the dose without explicit instructions from a medical professional, as this could lead to unintended side effects.
What if I give too much of L Citrimin Syrup by mistake?
While relatively safe for children, excessively high doses of L Citrimin Syrup can cause serious side effects such as seizures, hallucinations, rapid heart rate, irritability, slow breathing, coma. In case of an overdose, contact a doctor or poison control center immediately.
How should L Citrimin Syrup be stored?
Store L Citrimin Syrup at room temperature in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep it out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
When do I need to call my child’s doctor right away?
It is always advisable to consult a doctor for any questions or concerns regarding your child's health. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any unusual symptoms such as: allergic reactions (facial swelling, difficulty breathing), signs of liver problems (dark urine, yellow eyes or skin), excessive drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, confusion or hyperactivity, difficulty urinating, irritability, and vision changes.
Try giving the medicines at the same time each day to help you remember. Your child may feel sleepy or dizzy after each dose of L Citrimin Syrup. If this happens, make your child sit or lie down and ask them to be careful while performing tasks that require mental focus.
