It works by killing the fungus that causes infections such as athlete's foot, thrush, and ringworm.

What is Konaz Antifungal Cream used for?
Konaz Antifungal Cream is a prescription medicine indicated for the treatment of various skin infections. It is effective against athlete’s foot, jock itch, sweat rash (infected with a yeast infection known as thrush), and candida infections of skin and nails.
Is Konaz Antifungal Cream a steroid cream?
Konaz Antifungal Cream is not a steroid cream. It belongs to the imidazole class of medicines, which works by killing fungi or inhibiting their growth, thus treating fungal infections.
What are the side effects of Konaz Antifungal Cream?
Common side effects include application site burning, redness, and itching. Rare side effects may include discomfort, dryness, bleeding, severe allergic reactions (e.g., urticaria or hives), rash, skin exfoliation, sticky skin, prickling sensation, or inflammation.
Can I use a steroid cream along with Konaz Antifungal Cream?
It is recommended to apply a mild steroid ointment like hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the morning and Konaz Antifungal Cream in the evening. Gradually discontinue using the steroid cream over 2-3 weeks. If you've used a potent corticosteroid for seborrheic dermatitis, allow at least two weeks between use before applying Konaz Antifungal Cream to prevent skin sensitization.
How should Konaz Antifungal Cream be applied?
Wash the affected area thoroughly with water and dry it. Before application, wash your hands carefully (until and unless your hands are also affected) after applying Konaz Antifungal Cream to prevent infection spread.
For how long do I need to use Konaz Antifungal Cream?
Use Konaz Antifungal Cream for as long as recommended by your doctor, typically 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash and 2-6 weeks for athlete’s foot. Do not stop using it even if your symptoms disappear, as the infection might return if left untreated.
What should I do if I forget to use Konaz Antifungal Cream?
If you miss a dose of Konaz Antifungal Cream, please continue with the medication as prescribed. However, consult your doctor if unsure or have any further questions.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
