Ketostar Cream is used to treat skin infections affecting the feet (Athlete's foot), groin area (jock itch), or between skin folds (sweat rash infected with a yeast infection, also known as thrush). It is also used for candida infections of the skin and nails. It provides rapid relief from itching caused by these fungal infections.
Is Ketostar Cream a steroid cream?
No, Ketostar Cream is not a steroid cream. It is an anti-fungal medication belonging to the imidazole class of medicines. It works by killing fungi or by preventing the growth of fungi that cause infection.
What are the side effects of Ketostar Cream?
Common side effects include burning, redness, and itching at the application site. Uncommon side effects may involve discomfort, dryness, bleeding, severe allergic reactions (such as hives or rash), skin exfoliation, sticky skin, prickling sensation, or inflammation.
Can I use a steroid cream along with Ketostar Cream?

Gradually discontinue the use of the steroid cream after 2-3 weeks. However, if you have used a potent corticosteroid for seborrheic dermatitis, maintain a 2-week gap before applying Ketostar Cream to prevent skin sensitization.
How should Ketostar Cream be applied?
Wash the affected area thoroughly with water and then dry it. Wash your hands carefully (until and unless your hands are also affected) after applying Ketostar Cream to prevent infection spread to other body parts or others.
For how long do I need to use Ketostar Cream?
The duration of Ketostar Cream application should be as advised by your doctor. Generally, it is used for 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash, and 2-6 weeks for Athlete's foot. Do not stop using the medication even if symptoms disappear, as the infection may reappear without proper treatment.
What should I do if I forget to use Ketostar Cream?
If you forget to apply Ketostar Cream, do not worry and continue with it once you remember. If unsure or have any other questions, consult your doctor.
