Ibitra SB Capsule is an antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails. Ibitra SB Capsule should be taken in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed whole and can be taken with food. To get the most benefit, take this medicine at evenly spaced times and continue using it until your prescription is finished, even if your symptoms disappear after a few days.
Ibitra SB Capsule is an antifungal medication. It kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane.
What is Ibitra SB Capsule used for?
Ibitra SB Capsule is a prescription medication used to treat various fungal infections caused by certain fungi. It's effective against ringworm, foot infections, groin and buttock infections, persistent nail and toenail infections, candidiasis (yeast infection) of the vagina, mouth, or throat in individuals with lower disease resistance. Additionally, it can be used for cryptococcal and Histoplasma, Aspergillosis, Blastomyces infections.
How long do I need to take Ibitra SB Capsule?
The duration of treatment depends on the type and location of infection, as well as your response to the medication. For example, athlete's foot (fungal infection of the skin on the feet and between the toes) might require a 30-day course of treatment. For vaginal candidiasis, the duration could be anywhere from 1 day to 3 days depending on doctor-prescribed dosage.
I am taking Ibitra SB Capsule for nail infection but there doesn’t seem to be any improvement, can I stop taking it?
No, you should not stop taking Ibitra SB Capsule without completing the entire course. This may not fully eliminate the fungal infection. It often takes 6-9 months for nail lesions to clear because after the medication eliminates the fungus, new nail growth takes several months. Keep in mind that it is normal if you don't see immediate improvement during treatment.

Ibitra SB Capsule can be taken alongside antacids for stomach acid neutralization. However, avoid taking antacid or any such medicine 2 hours before or after consuming Ibitra SB Capsules. If you are taking antacids (medicines that neutralize stomach acid) take Ibitra SB capsules with a drink of cola.
What is drug resistance and is it possible to develop resistance to Ibitra SB Capsule?
Drug resistance occurs when the fungi in your body changes, making the medication ineffective. This has been reported with some candida species (krusei, glabrata, and tropicalis). Therefore, It's crucial to ensure you take the complete course of Ibitra SB Capsule to avoid drug resistance.
I have been on alprazolam for quite some time. Is it okay if I start taking Ibitra SB Capsule now?
Yes, you can take both Alprazolam and Ibitra SB Capsule together but carefully monitor the side effects of Alprazolam, such as lightheadedness or drowsiness. If any side effects occur after starting Ibitra SB Capsule, talk to your doctor who may adjust the dose of Alprazolam.
