What is Hepavit LP 5gm Injection?
Hepavit LP 5gm Injection contains two amino acids, commonly used to prevent abnormal brain function (hepatic encephalopathy) in patients with liver diseases.
How is Hepavit LP 5gm Injection used for treating hepatic encephalopathy (HE)?
Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a brain disorder associated with liver failure. Increased bacterial growth in the intestine leads to ammonia accumulation, which affects brain function. Hepavit LP 5gm Injection works by removing ammonia from the blood, reducing free ammonia and thus improving brain function due to the decrease of abnormal brain activity caused by liver disease.
How is Hepavit LP 5gm Injection administered?
Hepavit LP 5gm Injection is given as a daily injection into the vein prescribed by your doctor, based on your individual health condition and severity of liver disease.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
- You will be regularly monitored for blood creatinine and blood/urine urea levels.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
