Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango is a combination of three active ingredients, including ofloxacin and metronidazole, which are antibiotics, and simethicone, a gas-absorbing agent. It is used to treat bacterial infections in children, such as those affecting the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. This medicine is also given as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis.
Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango is a combination of three active ingredients. The antibiotic ingredients, ofloxacin and metronidazole, interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA, killing the infection-causing bacteria and preventing its growth and stopping the infection. Simethicone, the gas-absorbing agent, binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem, aiding in the removal of gases and providing relief in stomach pain and bloating.
Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by the doctor and to complete the full course of treatment.
- Diarrhea is a common side effect of this medicine. If it occurs, make sure your child drinks plenty of water.
- Your child may have an altered taste or furry tongue (coating of Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango on tongue) after taking Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
- Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango as these can affect the absorption of the medicine.
- Never use this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango treats only bacterial infections.
- Discontinue Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
- Only give Floxamel-MS Oral Suspension Mango to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
