Austospas Oral Suspension is used to treat stomach pain, bloating, and abdominal cramps, and pain associated with excessive acidity, gas, infections, and gastrointestinal tract diseases. Austospas Oral Suspension is commonly given to treat stomach pain, bloating, and abdominal cramps, and pain associated with excessive acidity, gas, infections, and gastrointestinal tract diseases. It also controls symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. It relaxes the muscles of the gut and absorbs the extra gas.
Austospas Oral Suspension is a mixture of two active medicines Dicyclomine, an antispasmodic agent, and Simethicone, an antifoaming medicine. Dicyclomine works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms) thereby relieving abdominal cramps and pain. Whereas Simethicone disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.
What should I do if my child is experiencing abdominal pain associated with nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light?
If your child is having symptoms like abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, photophobia, and pallor for at least six months, it could be a sign of abdominal migraine. Consult a doctor to rule out such conditions before giving Austospas Oral Suspension.
What tests may my child need if they have abdominal pain?
Your child's doctor may recommend an abdominal ultrasound as a routine examination. In severe cases, endoscopy and esophageal pH monitoring might also be advised.
When should Austospas Oral Suspension not be given?
Avoid giving Austospas Oral Suspension if your child has obstructive or inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract, such as heartburn, unstable cardiovascular diseases, obstructive uropathy, glaucoma, muscle weakness disorder, liver impairment, hyperthyroidism, neuropathy, and kidney impairment.
Can other medicines be taken with Austospas Oral Suspension?
Tell your child's doctor about any other medicines they are taking before starting Austospas Oral Suspension. Also, consult the doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
How should Austospas Oral Suspension be stored?
Austospas Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of children's reach and sight to avoid accidental intake.
