Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of migraine. It prevents pain signals to reach the brain to reduce pain and also blocks certain substances in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting during migraine headaches. Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Paracetamol. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
- Have your meals at the same time every day
- Avoid bright lights and extreme temperatures
- Avoid loud music and noisy places
- Avoid chocolates, cheese, processed food, alcohol, and smoking
- Get sufficient sleep and avoid stress
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet.
Breastfeed
Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Pregnancy
Zidon Plus 10 mg/500 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
