YAZ Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy and treat irregular menstrual periods. It works by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. Additionally, it changes the lining of the womb, making it unsuitable for pregnancy. While effective, it may cause side effects such as menstrual irregularities, and it is not recommended for use in women who are obese, over 35, smoke, are on prolonged bed rest, or have a history of blood clots.
