Xarex 2.5 Tablet is a medicine known as an anticoagulant or blood thinner. It helps prevent and treat blood clots. Xarex 2.5 Tablet is commonly used in patients with irregular heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation) to prevent clot formation. It also reduces the risk of getting clots in people who have undergone knee or hip replacement surgeries. It may be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for maximum benefits. You may need to take this medicine for many years even for life in some cases. Do not stop taking it or change the dose without guidance from your doctor. It could quickly put you more at risk of having a heart attack stroke or thrombosis (formation of a blood clot within a blood vessel).
Xarex 2.5 Tablet is a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC). It works by stopping a clotting factor called factor Xa from working. This helps prevent the formation of blood clots in the body.

The most commonly reported side effects of Xarex 2.5 Tablet include prolonged or excessive bleeding, breathlessness (which may be a sign of bleeding), weakness, fatigue, pallor, dizziness, headache, and unexplained swelling. Other potential side effects can range from mild to severe, including skin reactions like rash or itching, bruising, coughing up blood, bleeding from the skin or under the skin, and swelling in limbs. Xarex 2.5 Tablet may also cause a decrease in platelets and an increase in bilirubin levels.

Is Xarex 2.5 Tablet dangerous?
Xarex 2.5 Tablet is generally safe for most patients, but it does affect blood clotting, making you more prone to bleeding even from minor injuries. This can potentially lead to serious and life-threatening complications if not managed properly. Additionally, this medication may increase the risk of bleeding when combined with other medications that thin the blood. It's important to contact your doctor immediately in case you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising.
What foods should you avoid if you are on blood thinners?
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice should be avoided while taking Xarex 2.5 Tablet as they contain compounds that slow down the medication's effectiveness and increase bleeding risk. In cases of other blood thinners like Warfarin, vitamin K-rich foods may also need to be limited. Examples include spinach, brussels sprouts, mustard greens, broccoli, asparagus, and green tea. However, these restrictions do not apply to Xarex 2.5 Tablet alone.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Xarex 2.5 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
