Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children. Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen and urinary tract. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.
Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic. It interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. These defects hamper the multiplication of the bacteria and affect its survival as well. Thus, it kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
What if I accidentally give my child too much Welox 50mg Oral Suspension?
An extra dose of Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect your child has received an excessive dose, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). If you notice any of these symptoms, rush to your child's doctor for immediate attention.
What should I do if my child shows no improvement after taking Welox 50mg Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration?
If your child does not show improvement after taking Welox 50mg Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration, it may indicate that the medicine is ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult your child's doctor, who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic that is more effective. Not all medicines are given orally; some may require intravenous administration in a hospital setting.
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Welox 50mg Oral Suspension?
Welox 50mg Oral Suspension may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Welox 50mg Oral Suspension. Additionally, consult your child's doctor before giving any other medicine to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Welox 50mg Oral Suspension?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
What should I tell the doctor before giving Welox 50mg Oral Suspension to my child?
Inform your doctor if your child has a pre-existing heart condition, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. Welox 50mg Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions, leading to complications.
Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. In case of any confusion, do consult your doctor. Do not double the dose to catch up.
