Vicosit M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes in children. Vicosit M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Vicosit M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I mix cough and allergy medicines together?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. Mixing these can result in double dosing of the active ingredients, potentially causing serious side effects.
May I reduce the dosage of Vicosit M Syrup myself if my child is feeling better?
No. Adhere to the prescribed dosage as directed by your child's doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting a medical professional, as this may have harmful consequences for your child's health. While increasing the dose might cause unintended effects such as sedation and depression, reducing the dose suddenly can result in rebound reversal of all symptoms.
How should Vicosit M Syrup be stored?
Vicosit M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Additionally, keep all medications out of the reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
Can Vicosit M Syrup cause drowsiness in my child?
Vicosit M Syrup can cause mild drowsiness, which may lead to sleepiness in your child. However, this medication should not be given to induce sleep. Forced sleep might mask underlying sleep disorders such as insomnia.
My child is an athlete and has a sports event in the next two days. Can I start Vicosit M Syrup?

Can I stop the medication on my own?
No. All symptoms may reappear if Vicosit M Syrup is stopped abruptly, especially when taken for an extended period. It is advised to gradually stop this medicine under your child's doctor's guidance.
Is it safe to give my child Vicosit M Syrup if they have a mood disorder?
Vicosit M Syrup has been linked to mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, tremors, and difficulty controlling body movements. Consult your child's doctor before giving any medication for this reason.
Can I use Vicosit M Syrup for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
