Trolzin M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Trolzin M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Trolzin M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
My child has a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms. Can I give cough and allergy medicine together?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. Mixing these medications may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, potentially causing serious side effects. Consult your child's doctor for appropriate treatment options.
Can I decrease the dose of Trolzin M Syrup by myself if my child starts to feel better?
No. Adhere to the dosage prescribed by your child's doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose by yourself as it can negatively impact your child’s health. While increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can lead to rebound reversal of all symptoms.
How should Trolzin M Syrup be stored?
Trolzin M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Also, keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
Can Trolzin M Syrup make my child sleepy?
Trolzin M Syrup can cause mild drowsiness in children, which may make them feel sleepy. However, do not give this medicine to your child for inducing sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.
My child is an athlete and has to participate in a sports event in the next two days. Can I start the course of Trolzin M Syrup?
No, do not start Trolzin M Syrup without first consulting your child's doctor. This medication can negatively impact performance by causing mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. Seek advice from a healthcare professional before administering this medicine.
Can I stop the medicine by myself?
No, all symptoms may reappear on sudden withdrawal of Trolzin M Syrup usually if taken for a long term. It is advised to stop this medicine gradually under the guidance of your child’s doctor.
My child is suffering from a mood disorder. Is it safe to give Trolzin M Syrup to my child?
Some studies show that Trolzin M Syrup can cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child’s doctor before giving any medication to your child.
Can I use Trolzin M Syrup for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
Trolzin M Syrup should only be used as a preventative measure for asthma. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already started. Use your child's reliever medicine to help with an attack that has already started.
Trolzin M Syrup is a medication that should be used as directed by a doctor. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully and not to stop taking the medication without consulting a doctor.
