Topmont FXA Tablet SR is a combination medicine used in the prevention of asthma. It relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. Topmont FXA Tablet SR is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine.
Topmont FXA Tablet SR is a combination of three medicines: Montelukast, Fexofenadine and Acebrophylline. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose and improves symptoms of allergies. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) making it easier to cough out.
What potential interactions should be avoided when taking Topmont FXA Tablet SR?
Do not take Topmont FXA Tablet SR with fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit) as these can decrease its effectiveness. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking the medication, as it may worsen drowsiness or sleepiness caused by Topmont FXA Tablet SR.
Can I discontinue Topmont FXA Tablet SR once my symptoms are alleviated?
No, you must continue taking Topmont FXA Tablet SR as prescribed by your doctor. If any problems arise from using this medication, inform your doctor immediately.

- It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing.
