Tobren F Eye Drop is a medicine used to treat bacterial eye infections, killing and preventing the growth of infection-causing bacteria. Tobren F Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Use it in the exact dose and duration as advised by the doctor or as instructed in the label. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Complete your dose even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may bring back the infection. Use of this medicine may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water. Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.
Tobren F Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Tobramycin and Fluorometholone. Tobramycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Fluorometholone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen, and itchy.
How to Use Tobren F Eye Drop?
Wash your hands before using Tobren F Eye Drop to avoid contamination. Do not touch the tip of a dropper. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Tobren F Eye Drop. For using Tobren F Eye Drop, tilt your head back, look up, and pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch. Place one drop of this medicine in the pouch.
Can I stop using Tobren F Eye Drop when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Tobren F Eye Drop. Finish the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if you start to feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared.
Can the use of Tobren F Eye Drop cause blurry vision?
Tobren F Eye Drop may temporarily make your eyes blurred. Avoid driving or operating machinery right after using Tobren F Eye Drop.
