Terbiclox Cream is a combination medicine used to treat various types of skin infections, minimizing symptoms of inflammation such as redness, swelling, and itching. Terbiclox Cream is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina rinse with water. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The course of the treatment should be completed to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or gets worse, you should talk to your doctor.
Terbiclox Cream is a combination of four medicines: Terbinafine, Clobetasol, Ofloxacin, and Ornidazole. Terbinafine is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their protective covering. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ornidazole is also an antibiotic which kills other infectious microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging the DNA.
Can I stop taking Terbiclox Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Terbiclox Cream and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the skin infection is completely cured.
What precautions should be taken while using Terbiclox Cream?
Terbiclox Cream should not be used on the face. Do not use the medication for longer periods of time than you have been advised. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the preparation and increase the risk of side-effects. This medicine should only be used by the patient and never be given to other people even if their condition appears to be the same.
What would happen if I use a higher than the recommended dose of Terbiclox Cream for long periods?
Using more than the recommended dose of Terbiclox Cream or using it for longer than directed can lead to skin changes, such as discoloration or increased hair growth. The medication may also be absorbed into your bloodstream and could potentially cause side effects like weight gain, high blood pressure, and facial puffiness. If you experience any worsening symptoms, please consult your doctor.
What are the recommended instructions for the storage and disposal of Terbiclox Cream?
Keep this medicine in its original package or container, tightly sealed. Store according to the directions on the packaging label. Do not consume any unused medication. Make sure it is not accessible by children, pets or other people.
