Strocit Injection is a medicine used in the treatment of stroke, head injury, Alzheimer's disease, and memory loss (dementia) in Parkinson's disease. Strocit Injection is administered as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional and should not be self-administered. It is given in cases where oral administration is not possible. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Some common side effects that may be seen with this medicine include decreased blood pressure, stomach pain, diarrhea, irregular heart rate, rash, insomnia, and occurrence or intensification of numbness of paralyzed extremities.
Strocit Injection is a nerve protecting medicine. It nourishes the nerve cells, protects them from damage, and improves their survival by producing certain brain chemicals including phosphatidylcholine and acetylcholine. It also reduces free fatty acid buildup at the site of nerve damage.
I have been prescribed Strocit Injection for Alzheimer's disease. What is its role, and how does it work?
Strocit Injection contains choline, an essential nutrient naturally found in the body. It protects nerve cells in the brain from damage and aids in repairing damaged nerve cells. This enhances learning, memory, and cognitive function (processing information or perception) in individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
Can I take alcohol during treatment with Strocit Injection?
There is no established research on the effect of alcohol on Strocit Injection therapy. However, for patients undergoing treatment with Strocit Injection for stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, head injury, or age-related memory impairment, avoiding alcohol consumption is recommended.
Can students take Strocit Injection to improve memory and learning?
No, students should not take Strocit Injection as studies have shown its effectiveness only in individuals with age-related memory problems, those experiencing memory loss related to a long-standing stroke, and Alzheimer's disease. Furthermore, there is no data available on the use of this medicine in children.
What is the role of Strocit Injection in stroke?
In cases of stroke caused by blood clots, oral administration of Strocit Injection can help patients recover completely within three months. Additionally, intravenous (directly injecting into a vein) administration of Strocit Injection within 12 hours of stroke occurrence or daily for seven days after the stroke may facilitate quicker recovery.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self-administer.
