Sporoban 100 Capsule is an antifungal medication used to treat infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails. Sporoban 100 Capsule should be taken in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It should be swallowed whole and can be taken with food. To get the most benefit, take this medicine at evenly spaced times and continue using it until your prescription is finished, even if your symptoms disappear after a few days. If you stop the treatment too early, the infection may return and if you miss doses, you can increase your risk of infections that are resistant to further treatment. Tell your doctor if the infection does not get better or if it gets worse.

What is Sporoban 100 Capsule used for?
Sporoban 100 Capsule is used to treat fungal infections caused by Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and Epidermophyton floccosum. These infections can include ringworm, foot infection, groin and buttocks infection. Sporoban 100 Capsule is also used for the treatment of persistent nail and toenail fungal infections, as well as persistent candida (yeast) infections in the vagina or mouth/throat in patients with lower disease resistance. It's also used to treat cryptococcal infection and fungal infections caused by Histoplasma, Aspergillus, and Blastomyces.
For how long do I need to take Sporoban 100 Capsule?
The duration of treatment depends on the type and site of the infection and individual response. For example, if you are treating athlete's foot (fungal skin infection on your feet and between toes), the dosage may require 30 days of use. However, for candidal infections in the vagina, treatment duration could be from 1 day to 3 days, depending on the doctor-prescribed dosage.
I am taking Sporoban 100 Capsule for nail infection but there doesn't seem to be any improvement. Can I stop taking it?
No, you should not stop taking Sporoban 100 Capsule without completing the entire course because doing so may not completely cure the fungal infection. It usually takes several months (6-9) for nail lesions to disappear as new nails take time to grow after medication eliminates the fungus. Do not worry if you do not see improvement during treatment.
Why has my doctor asked me to get blood tests done?
Your doctor may have requested blood tests to monitor your liver's function while taking Sporoban 100 Capsule. This is because, in rare cases, this medicine can cause serious liver damage. If you experience any of the following symptoms (loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dark urine, or abdominal pain) during treatment, inform your doctor immediately.
Can I take antacid and Sporoban 100 Capsule together?
Sporoban 100 Capsule can be utilized effectively if sufficient acid is present in the stomach. Medicines for ulcers, heartburn, or indigestion neutralize acid produced by the stomach. Therefore, take antacids (stomach acid suppressant) about two hours after taking Sporoban 100 Capsule. If you are taking antacid, consume Sporoban 100 Capsule with a cola drink.
What is drug resistance? Is it possible to develop resistance to Sporoban 100 Capsule?
Drug resistance occurs when the fungus in your body changes and becomes resistant to the medicine. It can happen, especially with candida species like krusei, glabrata, and tropicalis. If this happens, Sporoban 100 Capsule might not be effective. To prevent resistance, complete the full course of Sporoban 100 Capsule.
