Spasmokem-NF Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of abdominal pain and cramps by relaxing the muscles of the stomach and gut. Spasmokem-NF Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. It is better to take it with food to avoid stomach upset. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects are nausea, dryness in the mouth, blurred vision, weakness, and nervousness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. You should also tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
Spasmokem-NF Tablet is a combination of two medicines: dicyclomine and paracetamol, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Consult your doctor if diarrhea persists or you notice signs of dehydration (less urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine). Do not take any other medication without speaking to your doctor.
Can Spasmokem-NF Tablet cause dry mouth?
Yes, Spasmokem-NF Tablet can cause dry mouth. To combat this: drink plenty of water; take small frequent sips throughout the day and keep some by your bed at night. You may use a lip balm to soothe dry lips. Try to avoid acidic foods (like lemons), spicy, and salty.
Are there any specific contraindications for using Spasmokem-NF Tablet?
Spasmokem-NF Tablet may not be suitable for patients with allergies to Dicyclomine or Paracetamol. It should be used cautiously in patients with alcohol dependence, and those with pre-existing kidney or liver damage.
