Sensodyne Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste is a daily fluoride toothpaste that acts rapidly against tooth sensitivity while providing the benefits of regular toothpaste, like strong teeth and healthy gums. When the protective layer of teeth (enamel) is worn away, or gums recede, the dentine underneath becomes exposed. This can trigger a sharp short sensation called tooth sensitivity. Sensodyne Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste is designed to provide rapid relief from tooth sensitivity while still providing the benefits of regular toothpaste.
Sensodyne Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste contains potassium nitrate that soothes the nerves inside your teeth. The stannous fluoride protects the teeth by building a protective layer around the teeth, creating a barrier from pain caused due to sensitivity.

Does over-brushing cause sensitive teeth?
Brushing your teeth too frequently and too hard can cause enamel wear and gum recession. With time, it can also expose the dentin and thus causes sensitivity. However, using Sensodyne sensitive toothpaste twice daily can reduce sensitivity.
How does Sensodyne work?
Sensodyne contains potassium nitrate that soothes the nerves inside your teeth. The stannous fluoride protects the teeth by building a protective layer around the teeth, creating a barrier from pain caused due to sensitivity.
Use as your regular toothpaste. Apply at least a 1-inch strip of the toothpaste onto a soft bristle toothbrush. Brush teeth thoroughly for at least 2 minutes twice a day (morning and evening), and not more than 3 times a day, or as recommended by the dentist. Make sure to brush all the sensitive areas of the teeth. For rapid action, first, squeeze pea-sized amount on a clean fingertip and gently rub on the base of the sensitive teeth for 1 minute. Minimize swallowing. Spit out after brushing.
