What is S-Taz Injection?
S-Taz Injection is a medication containing two amino acids, commonly used to treat patients with liver failure. It helps prevent brain dysfunction (called hepatic encephalopathy) by decreasing the amount of ammonia in the body.
How does S-Taz Injection work for treating hepatic encephalopathy (HE)?
Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a brain disorder that occurs when the liver fails to function properly. In such cases, there's an overgrowth of bacteria in the intestine which leads to an increase in ammonia buildup in the bloodstream. This ammonia can affect brain function and cause HE. S-Taz Injection works by detoxifying ammonia from the blood, effectively lowering its concentration, thereby reducing abnormal brain activity caused by liver failure.
