Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash is a combination of three medicines used to treat infection of mouth or gums, having antimicrobial action on infection-causing bacteria, preventing teeth cavities, and making them stronger. Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash should be used as per directed by your doctor. Apply it only on to the infected areas inside the mouth. Remember the medicine should never be swallowed. You should spit it out and rinse your mouth thoroughly after the application. You must wash immediately if there is accidental contact of the medicine in the eyes. This is usually a safe medicine and may not cause any side effects. However, long-term use of this medicine may cause staining of the teeth.
Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash is a combination of three medicines: Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Sodium Monofluorophosphate, and Triclosan. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks, and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, ulcers, and other mouth infections. Sodium Monofluorophosphate works by making the teeth stronger and preventing decay (cavity) caused by bacteria. Triclosan also kills the harmful bacteria and fungi by attacking their outer covering.
Check the label before use. Take the mouthwash in the quantity as advised by your doctor and put it in your mouth. Swish for 30 seconds to 1 minute and spit it. Do not swallow. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after rinsing.
- Do not add water to the oral rinse. Do not rinse your mouth with water or other mouthwashes right after using Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash.
- Avoid eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth just after using this medication.
- Do not use Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash if you have deep oral ulcers or throat infection.
- Stop using this medicine and inform your doctor if any irritation occurs.
- Along with using Rexidin Plus Mouth Wash, maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily with a soft bristle brush.
- Have regular dental checkups at intervals recommended by your dentist (this is normally at least once a year).
