Omez Capsule is used in the treatment of stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It reduces stomach acid and helps relieve symptoms such as heartburn. Omez Capsule is a medicine that helps reduce the amount of acid made by the stomach. It is used for the treatment of peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and for the management of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition in which the stomach produces too much acid.
Omez Capsule works by specifically blocking an enzyme system known as the 'acid pump' in the stomach lining. This enzyme is responsible for the final step in the production of gastric acid. Inhibiting this pump reduces both the volume and acidity of stomach secretions, providing lasting acid suppression and promoting healing of acid-related conditions such as ulcers and reflux disease.
What is Omez Capsule used for?
Omez Capsule is used to treat several acid-related stomach and intestinal conditions such as peptic ulcer, gastric ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It helps relieve heartburn, heals ulcers, and prevents damage caused by excess acid in the stomach and food pipe.
How long does Omez Capsule take to work?
Some people begin to feel better within a few days, but it may take up to 4 weeks for full relief. Most ulcers and reflux symptoms heal within 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, depending on your condition.
Can I take Omez Capsule every day?
Yes, Omez Capsule can be taken daily as prescribed. However, prolonged or unnecessary use should be avoided. Long-term use may increase the risk of bone fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, magnesium imbalance, or fundic gland polyps. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
Can I take Omez Capsule with other medicines?
Some medicines can interact with Omez Capsule. Do not take it with rilpivirine-containing products and inform your doctor about all other medicines or supplements you use.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Omez Capsule is to be taken on an empty stomach.
- Take it before a meal, preferably in the morning, 30–60 minutes before breakfast, to get the best effect.
- Take it at the same time every day for best results.
- Avoid trigger foods, such as spicy, fatty, or acidic foods, and limit caffeine and alcohol intake.
- Avoid laying down right after eating. Wait at least 2–3 hours after meals before lying down to prevent acid reflux.
- If you still experience heartburn or indigestion after 2 weeks, consult with your doctor.

Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Omez Capsule. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
