Myrifa 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhea. It works by killing and stopping the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines. Myrifa 200mg Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
Myrifa 200mg Tablet is an antibiotic. Myrifa 200mg Tablet inhibits the bacteria's ability to make proteins and stops the growth of bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea.

The duration of Myrifa 200mg Tablet usage will vary depending on the condition being treated. For traveler's diarrhea, it is usually prescribed for 3 days. For irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), treatment typically lasts for 14 days.
Can Myrifa 200mg Tablet cure IBS?
Taking Myrifa 200mg Tablet can help manage symptoms and reduce the recurrence of IBS. However, its effectiveness in curing the disease completely is not definitively established. How long does Myrifa 200mg Tablet take to work for IBS?
Myrifa 200mg Tablet typically starts working within 24 to 48 hours. You might observe gradual improvement in symptoms, such as diarrhea, after starting the medication. Generally, a 2-week course of Myrifa 200mg Tablet can provide relief for IBS symptoms within 2 weeks and may even offer temporary relief for up to 10 weeks following treatment cessation.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Myrifa 200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- You have been prescribed Myrifa 200mg Tablet for the treatment of infectious diarrhea.
- It should only be taken for a maximum of three days. If your symptoms do not improve after three days, inform your doctor. Do not take a second course of Myrifa 200mg Tablet.
- It may cause reddish discoloration of urine. This is normal and harmless.
- Stop taking Myrifa 200mg Tablet and inform your doctor if your diarrhoea gets worse or starts to contain blood or mucus.
- Finish the full course of the medication even if you feel better. Stopping the course early increases the risk of coming back of the infection.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Myrifa 200mg Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Myrifa 200mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Pregnancy
