Meticet Syrup is an antihistamine used to treat various allergic conditions such as hay fever, conjunctivitis, and skin reactions like eczema, hives, and reactions to bites and stings. Meticet Syrup belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It is used to treat various allergic conditions such as hay fever, conjunctivitis and some skin reactions such as eczema, hives, and reactions to bites and stings. It relieves watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching.
Meticet Syrup belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines. It blocks the natural chemical substance (histamine) produced in the body during an allergic state. It also subsides (lowers) your child’s immune system’s response to these conditions thereby reducing the symptoms.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Meticet Syrup may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Alcohol
Meticet Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Breastfeed
Meticet Syrup is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Larger doses or more prolonged use of Meticet Syrup may cause drowsiness and other effects in the baby or decrease the milk supply
Pregnancy
Meticet Syrup is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
