Met XL ATF 50mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Metoprolol Succinate and Atorvastatin. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It slows down the heart rate and relaxes blood vessels to improve blood flow. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers 'bad' cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises 'good' cholesterol (HDL). Together they reduce the risk of heart diseases.
