Melgain Lotion is a medication used for the treatment of vitiligo, a condition characterized by white patches on the skin and hair roots. It stimulates the movement and growth of melanin-producing cells, called melanocytes, to restore skin color. Melgain Lotion is for external use only. Use it exactly as your doctor has prescribed. The affected area should be clean and dried before application. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Use it regularly to get the maximum benefit. Do not use more than needed as it will not clear your condition faster and may instead cause some side effects. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. You can help this medication work better by keeping the affected areas clean. Common side effects include dry skin, skin irritation, and burning sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor if these side effects do not get better or persist for a longer duration. Avoid direct contact with your eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse it off with water and seek medical attention. For optimal results, it is recommended to apply this medicine two hours before going to bed. In the morning, the treated patches can be exposed to sunlight for 10-15 minutes. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before using this medicine to make sure the medicine is safe for them and the developing baby.
Melgain Lotion is a repigmenting agent. It works by causing migration of skin cells (melanocytes) from the area of skin surrounding the vitiligo patch. This in turn causes the production of melanin (skin darkening pigment) and restores the skin color.
This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake it well and apply to the area evenly.
