Medomol DS Suspension possesses analgesic (pain-reliever) and antipyretic (lowers body temperature) properties. It provides relief by blocking certain chemical messengers and pathways in the brain that send signals about pain and fever.
How much Medomol DS Suspension should I give my child?
Always follow your doctor's instructions regarding dosage and frequency. This depends on the strength of the medicine and your child's age. The label or leaflet inside the packaging may also contain specific directions. For general guidance, the commonly recommended dose is 10-15 mg/kg per dose every 4 to 6 hours.
When will my child’s condition improve after taking Medomol DS Suspension?
Medomol DS Suspension usually begins working within 30 to 60 minutes of intake and shows its peak effect within 3 to 4 hours. You may see your child's symptoms improving after a few doses. However, if pain or fever persists for longer, consult your child’s doctor immediately.
Can I give Medomol DS Suspension to my child for low-grade fever?
Medomol DS Suspension can be used if your child's temperature is 38.3°C (101°F) or higher. Always consult with your doctor before using the medication.
My child’s fever is persistent even after taking Medomol DS Suspension. What should I do?
If the fever doesn't come down after a few doses, the cause could be an infection (viral or bacterial). It is advised to consult your doctor for specific treatment.
How much of Medomol DS Suspension is considered as an overdose?
Do not exceed four doses of Medomol DS Suspension in 24 hours. Ensure there's a minimum 4-6 hour gap between each dose. It’s important to discuss the medication with your doctor before taking it for more than three days, and be aware that exceeding 250 mg/kg can lead to toxicity which is potentially fatal. An overdose might cause serious liver and kidney damage.
Is there any special diet my child needs to follow while taking this medicine?
Unless instructed by your doctor, your child should maintain a normal balanced diet as lack of nutrition can increase the risk of medicinal toxicity.

Medomol DS Suspension does not usually interfere with ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions. However, it’s generally advisable to wait for your child to recover from the illness and finish the course of medication before administering the vaccine.
Give Medomol DS Suspension to your child with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. Your child should not take more than four doses of this medicine in 24 hours, so wait up to 6 hours between doses. Never give any other medicine formulation containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Inform the doctor if your child has liver disease as the dose may need to be adjusted. If Medomol DS Suspension does not seem to be helping your child, contact your doctor for advice. Do not give extra doses.
