Together they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
What is Mecever-G Tablet?
Mecever-G Tablet contains two active ingredients: Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. This medication is used to treat pain caused by nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy). It works by regenerating damaged nerves and decreasing the sensation of pain.
What is peripheral neuropathy?
Peripheral nerves, which are located in the extremities of the body (like toes and fingertips), may be damaged in peripheral neuropathy. If these nerves are impacted, they can't function correctly. This disrupts communication between the brain and the rest of the body. A breakdown in nerve signaling leads to pain.
Can I stop taking Mecever-G Tablet if my pain is relieved?
No, you must continue taking Mecever-G Tablet for the full prescribed duration. It may take some time for your nerves to regenerate and heal fully.
Can Mecever-G Tablet cause drowsiness?
Yes, drowsiness is a common side effect of Mecever-G Tablet. Do not operate heavy machinery, drive vehicles, or engage in activities that require your full attention while taking this medication. Also, avoid consuming alcohol as it can worsen the effect of sleepiness and increase the risk of falls or accidents.
Can I take a higher dose of Mecever-G Tablet than recommended?
No, exceeding the prescribed dosage of Mecever-G Tablet can lead to an increased chance of side effects and potentially harmful toxicity. If you experience severe symptoms that are not relieved by your current dosage, please consult your doctor for reevaluation.
