Mbzine M Oral Suspension is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Mbzine M Oral Suspension is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Mbzine M Oral Suspension contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I give my child cough and allergy medication together?
No, do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. This may result in double dosing of the active ingredients, potentially causing serious side effects.
Can I reduce the dose of Mbzine M Oral Suspension on my own if my child starts feeling better?
No, follow your child's doctor's prescribed dose. Do not increase or decrease the dose by yourself as this can impact your child’s health. While increasing the dose may cause unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dose or stopping it suddenly can lead to a rebound of symptoms.
How should Mbzine M Oral Suspension be stored?
Mbzine M Oral Suspension should be stored at room temperature in a dry place away from direct heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children to avoid any accidental intake.
Can Mbzine M Oral Suspension make my child sleepy?
Mbzine M Oral Suspension may cause mild drowsiness, which can lead to sleepiness in your child. However, never use this medicine to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder like insomnia.
Should I start the course of Mbzine M Oral Suspension before my child’s upcoming sports event?
No, consult your child’s doctor before starting the medication. Additionally, Mbzine M Oral Suspension can impair performance due to its potential to cause mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. It is best to seek guidance from a healthcare professional.
Can I stop the medication by myself?
No, stopping Mbzine M Oral Suspension on your own can lead to symptoms reappearing suddenly. It’s advised to discontinue this medication gradually under your child's doctor's guidance.
Can Mbzine M Oral Suspension be used to treat mood disorders?
Some studies show that Mbzine M Oral Suspension may cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulty controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child's doctor before administering any medication.
Can I use Mbzine M Oral Suspension for acute asthma attacks?
Mbzine M Oral Suspension is only meant to prevent asthma attacks. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already started. Use your child’s reliever medicine for managing an ongoing attack.
