Manocol 400 Tablet DR is an anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat ulcerative colitis and Crohn's ileocolitis by reducing inflammation in the bowel. Manocol 400 Tablet DR is an aminosalicylate used to treat mild inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's ileocolitis. It should be taken with food and the dose will depend on what you are being treated for. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen.
Manocol 400 Tablet DR is an aminosalicylate that works by suppressing the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation (swelling) in the intestines. This reduces ulceration, bleeding, and stomach pain, and prevents future flare-ups of the disease.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Manocol 400 Tablet DR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- You have been prescribed Manocol 400 Tablet DR for treating and lowering the symptoms of mild inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis.
- Do not take Manocol 400 Tablet DR if you are allergic to aspirin or if you have blood disorders.
- Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor.
Alcohol
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Manocol 400 Tablet DR. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Manocol 400 Tablet DR is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. If you are taking Manocol 400 Tablet DR, monitor the baby for diarrhea.
Pregnancy
Manocol 400 Tablet DR may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
