Lukast-M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Lukast-M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Lukast-M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I give my child cough and allergy medicine together if they have a persistent cough along with allergic symptoms?
No, it's not recommended to mix cough and allergy medicines as they may contain similar ingredients. This can lead to double dosing of active ingredients, potentially causing serious side effects.
Should I adjust the dose of Lukast-M Syrup if my child starts to feel better?
No, it's essential to follow the prescribed dose by your child's doctor. Don't increase or decrease the dose yourself, as this can impact their health. Decreasing the dose suddenly can lead to rebound reversal of all symptoms.

Is it safe to give Lukast-M Syrup to my child who suffers from a mood disorder?
Some studies show that Lukast-M Syrup may cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Consult your child's doctor before giving this medicine.
Can I use Lukast-M Syrup to treat acute asthma attacks in my child?
