Levomac AZ Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It fights against microorganisms to prevent their growth and further spread of the infection. Levomac AZ Tablet is a prescription medicine that should be taken as suggested by the doctor. It can be taken with or without food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine. The medicine may take some time to show its effects on the symptoms. However, it is advised to consult the doctor if you feel an aggravation of the condition or if your condition does not improve.
Levomac AZ Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levofloxacin and Azithromycin. Levofloxacin works by preventing the bacteria from reproducing and repairing themselves. Azithromycin stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush, or break it. Levomac AZ Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Levomac AZ Tablet should be taken with or without food but at the same time every day.
- Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
- Discontinue Levomac AZ Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
- Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
- It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects.

Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Levomac AZ Tablet.
Breastfeed
Levomac AZ Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
Levomac AZ Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
