Lerzin M Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of allergy, asthma, and skin allergies in children. Lerzin M Syrup is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Lerzin M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Can I give cough and allergy medicines together?
No, do not mix cough and allergy medicines as they often contain similar ingredients, which can lead to double dosing of active ingredients and cause serious side effects. Instead, follow the recommended dosage for each medication separately.
Should I decrease the dose of Lerzin M Syrup if my child starts to feel better?
No, do not adjust the dose by yourself. Adhere to the prescribed dose given by your child's doctor to ensure their health is maintained.
How should Lerzin M Syrup be stored?
Lerzin M Syrup should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Additionally, keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.

Is it safe to give Lerzin M Syrup to my child suffering from a mood disorder?
No, some studies show that Lerzin M Syrup can cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Consult your child's doctor before administering any medicine.
Can I use Lerzin M Syrup to treat acute asthma attacks in my child?
No, use Lerzin M Syrup only for preventing asthma attacks, not for stopping an attack that has already started. Your child's reliever medicine should be used for managing attacks.
