Jaknat 10 Tablet is used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. Jaknat 10 Tablet may be prescribed by itself or in combination with another medicine. The tablets can be taken with or without food and it is best to take them at the same time each day. Your dose will depend on your condition and what other medicines you are taking. You should use it as your doctor tells you to. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to because your condition could get worse.
Jaknat 10 Tablet is a Janus kinase inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of the enzyme Janus kinase. This decreases the activity of the immune system and inflammation associated with rheumatic diseases and ulcerative colitis.
Can I take Jaknat 10 Tablet if I have liver problems?
If you have liver problems, tell your doctor before starting Jaknat 10 Tablet. This is because in some cases, Jaknat 10 Tablet may increase liver enzyme levels. Therefore, it's crucial to have a liver function evaluation before starting Jaknat 10 Tablet. While Jaknat 10 Tablet can be prescribed to patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, it should not be prescribed to patients with severe liver impairment.
Can Jaknat 10 Tablet cause cancer?
Jaknat 10 Tablet may increase the risk of certain cancers (lymphoma and other cancers including skin cancers) by influencing the immune system. Therefore, inform your doctor if you have or had any type of cancer.

It can be used if previous treatments were ineffective or did not suit the patient, and earlier in treatment if a person doesn't respond well to prescribed drugs. It can be used alone or combined with other medications such as methotrexate.
How long does it take for Jaknat 10 Tablet to start working?
It typically takes about 2 to 8 weeks before you start feeling better when taking Jaknat 10 Tablet, and it can take 3 to 6 months to experience the maximum effect of this medication.
Do I need to get any investigations done before starting Jaknat 10 Tablet?
You may require blood tests to be done before or while taking Jaknat 10 Tablet. Blood tests are performed to check for low red blood cell count (anemia), low white blood cell count (neutropenia or lymphopenia), high blood fat (cholesterol) or high levels of liver enzymes. These tests help ensure treatment with Jaknat 10 Tablet doesn't cause problems and can also be used for screening for tuberculosis before starting this medication.
Can Jaknat 10 Tablet cause infections?
Jaknat 10 Tablet affects your immune system, which may reduce your body's ability to fight infection. This can increase the risk of serious infections including tuberculosis, fungal, bacterial or viral infections that spread throughout the body. These infections can be life-threatening and even potentially fatal. Therefore, seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs of these complications.
If I am already taking tocilizumab, can I take Jaknat 10 Tablet?
No, you should not combine tocilizumab with Jaknat 10 Tablet. Both medications affect the immune system; therefore, it's best to avoid combining these treatments.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Jaknat 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- Jaknat 10 Tablet is used alone or in combination with other medicines for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis that did not improve with other anti-rheumatic drugs.
- It may take 3 to 6 months to feel the maximum effect of this medication. Keep taking it as prescribed.
- Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your liver function, kidney function, blood counts, or cholesterol levels.
- Jaknat 10 Tablet can make it a bit harder for people to fight off infections. Inform your doctor if you have symptoms of an infection such as fever, chills, cough, and muscle aches.
- Your doctor may get TB (tuberculosis) skin test and a chest X-ray before starting treatment with this medication.
Alcohol
Consuming alcohol with Jaknat 10 Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Breastfeed
Jaknat 10 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Pregnancy
