Jaknat 10 Tablet is used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and ulcerative colitis. Jaknat 10 Tablet may be prescribed by itself or in combination with another medicine. The tablets can be taken with or without food and it is best to take them at the same time each day. Your dose will depend on your condition and what other medicines you are taking. You should use it as your doctor tells you to. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to because your condition could get worse.
Jaknat 10 Tablet is a Janus kinase inhibitor. It works by blocking the action of the enzyme Janus kinase. This decreases the activity of the immune system and inflammation associated with rheumatic diseases and ulcerative colitis.
Can I take Jaknat 10 Tablet if I have liver problems?
If you have liver problems, tell your doctor before starting Jaknat 10 Tablet. This is because in some cases, Jaknat 10 Tablet may increase liver enzyme levels. It typically takes about 2 to 8 weeks before you start feeling better when taking Jaknat 10 Tablet, and it can take 3 to 6 months to experience the maximum effect of this medication.
Do I need to get any investigations done before starting Jaknat 10 Tablet?
You may require blood tests to be done before or while taking Jaknat 10 Tablet. Blood tests are performed to check for low red blood cell count (anemia), low white blood cell count (neutropenia or lymphopenia), high blood fat (cholesterol) or high levels of liver enzymes. These tests help ensure treatment with Jaknat 10 Tablet doesn't cause problems and can also be used for screening for tuberculosis before starting this medication.

If I am already taking tocilizumab, can I take Jaknat 10 Tablet?
No, you should not combine tocilizumab with Jaknat 10 Tablet. Both medications affect the immune system; therefore, it's best to avoid combining these treatments.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Jaknat 10 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Alcohol
Consuming alcohol with Jaknat 10 Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Breastfeed
