Hypetin Oral Drops is a combination of cyproheptadine and tricholine citrate, used to stimulate appetite in children and treat allergic conditions. Give Hypetin Oral Drops to your child by mouth before food in the dose, time, and way prescribed by your child's doctor. Give this medicine at a fixed time so that it gradually becomes a part of your child's daily routine. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, help the child calm down and repeat the dose. To experience significant hunger stimulation and weight gain, you may require to continue giving this medicine to your child for a few days a month. Therefore, for maximum benefit, it is advised to continue the treatment for the prescribed duration.
Hypetin Oral Drops contains two medicines cyproheptadine and tricholine citrate. Together they stimulate the urge to eat (appetite). Cyproheptadine acts by reducing the effect of serotonin (a chemical messenger) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate also helps in increasing appetite and spares amino acids for muscle enhancement.
