Homatropine Eye Drop is used to dilate the pupil of the eye for examination and to treat uveitis. Homatropine Eye Drop is used to dilate the pupil of the eye for examination and to treat uveitis. It acts by enlarging the pupil of the eyes and helps the doctor visualize the eye more closely. It reduces redness and swelling in the eyes after cataract surgery. It is also used to relieve eye inflammation (redness and swelling) and infection. It is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Refrain from touching the tip of the dropper to any surface to avoid contaminating the eye drops.
Homatropine Eye Drop is used to dilate or enlarge the pupil of the eye so that the doctor can examine the back of the eyeball. It may also be used to reduce pain in certain eye conditions.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution
- Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer
- Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle
- Burning and stinging sensation immediately after application
