Hiclogen-T Tablet is a combination medicine that helps in relieving muscular pain by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. Hiclogen-T Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. The dose and duration will depend on the severity of your condition. You should keep taking the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop using it. Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and dryness in the mouth. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms.
Hiclogen-T Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Thiocolchicoside) and two pain relievers (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles. The pain relievers work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Can the use of Hiclogen-T Tablet be stopped when my pain is relieved?
Hiclogen-T Tablet is usually used for short term and can be discontinued when the pain is relieved. However, continue using Hiclogen-T Tablet as advised by your doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Hiclogen-T Tablet?
Hiclogen-T Tablet should not be used in patients with known allergy to painkillers or any of the components or excipients of this medicine. This medication may also not be suitable for those with a history of stomach ulcers, active or recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding, heart failure, high blood pressure, and/or liver or kidney disease.
Can Hiclogen-T Tablet be taken with vitamin B-complex?
Yes, Hiclogen-T Tablet can be taken with vitamin B-complex preparations. Vitamin B-complex may help to correct any vitamin deficiencies that might be contributing to your symptoms while Hiclogen-T Tablet helps relieve pain.
Can the use of Hiclogen-T Tablet cause damage to kidneys?
Long-term use of Hiclogen-T Tablet can potentially lead to kidney damage. Prostaglandins, a chemical produced by normal kidneys, protect them from damage. Painkillers reduce prostaglandin levels in the body, increasing the risk of kidney damage with long-term use. Patients with pre-existing kidney disease should avoid using this medication.
Will Hiclogen-T Tablet be more effective if taken in higher doses?
Taking more than the recommended dose of Hiclogen-T Tablet will not increase its effectiveness but may lead to increased side effects. If symptoms worsen, consult your doctor for a reevaluation.
Can the use of Hiclogen-T Tablet cause damage to liver?
Paracetamol in Hiclogen-T Tablet can be harmful to the liver, particularly at doses higher than the recommended dosage. Alcohol consumption should also be avoided while taking this medication as it further increases the risk of liver damage. If you have a history of liver disease, avoid using Hiclogen-T Tablet. If you notice signs of early liver damage (fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing of skin or eyes, and abnormal liver enzymes), immediately contact your doctor.
