Gatofos 10mg Tablet is used to prevent or treat weakening of the bones (osteoporosis), caused by menopause or use of steroids), and treat Paget's disease of the bone. Gatofos 10mg Tablet is best taken without food. You should take it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not stop taking it until you have finished even when you feel better. It may take several days to get the full benefit of this drug. Gatofos 10mg Tablet is only part of a program of treatment that may also include changes to your diet and taking calcium and vitamin supplements.
Gatofos 10mg Tablet is a bisphosphonate. It works by suppressing the activity of osteoclast cells that cause destruction of bone. This strengthens the bones and minimizes the risk of fractures.
How to take Gatofos 10mg Tablet?
Gatofos 10mg Tablets should be taken in the morning after getting up on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Do not lie down and stay fully upright for at least 30 minutes after swallowing the medicine. Avoid taking any food or medication for the next 30 mins after taking this medicine. Take this medicine only after consulting the doctor and follow the instructions advised.
Why can't I lie down after taking Gatofos 10mg Tablet?
Lying down immediately after taking Gatofos 10mg Tablets is not recommended. It may allow the medication to regurgitate back up into the esophagus (food pipe) and potentially damage the esophagus. Staying upright will help the medicine settle in your stomach quickly and prevent side effects like heartburn or pain.
Does Gatofos 10mg Tablet cause hair loss?
Yes, Gatofos 10mg Tablets can cause hair loss. This is not a common side effect but it's important to report any hair loss experienced while taking this medication immediately to your doctor.
Can Gatofos 10mg Tablet be used in pregnant women?

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gatofos 10mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
- Take it in the morning at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything.
- Maintain an upright posture for 30 minutes after taking the medication so the medicine does not irritate your food pipe.
- It may cause the amount of calcium in your blood to fall. Take calcium-rich food in your diet and have regular blood tests to monitor the level of calcium in your blood.
- It is important to look after your mouth and teeth while you are taking this medicine. Have regular dental check-ups and inform your dentist about taking Gatofos 10mg Tablet.

Alcohol
Consuming alcohol with Gatofos 10mg Tablet does not cause any harmful side effects.
Breastfeed
Gatofos 10mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. If you are taking Gatofos 10mg Tablet during breastfeeding, monitor baby's blood calcium levels during the first two months.
Pregnancy
