Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection is used to strengthen the body's natural immune system to lower the risk of infection in persons with weakened immune system. Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection is used to strengthen the body's natural immune system to lower the risk of infection in persons with weakened immune system. It is made from healthy human blood that has a high level of certain defensive substances (antibodies), which help fight infections.
Immune globulin belongs to class of agents called immunostimulants. It works by restoring abnormally low immunoglobulin G levels to the normal range to fight against infectious agents.
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
- Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection is used for the treatment of certain diseases that are caused due to lack of antibodies in your blood.
- It may be injected under the skin or given into a muscle.
- Your doctor will monitor you for some time after administration of Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection to check for any side effects.
- Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration unless you know how Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection affects you.
- Inform your doctor if you have received any live vaccine (e.g. oral polio MMR) in the last three months.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeed
Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Pregnancy
Gamaglobin 16.5% Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
