Exophas-MR Tablet is a combination medicine that helps in relieving muscular pain by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. Exophas-MR Tablet should be taken with food. This will prevent you from getting an upset stomach. The dose and duration will depend on the severity of your condition. You should keep taking the medicine even if you feel better until the doctor says it is alright to stop using it. Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and dryness in the mouth. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing the side effects. In general, you should try to use the smallest amount necessary to control your symptoms.
Exophas-MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Thiocolchicoside) and two pain relievers (Aceclofenac, Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles. The pain relievers work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
Can the use of Exophas-MR Tablet be stopped when my pain is relieved?
Exophas-MR Tablet is usually taken for short periods and can be discontinued when pain relief is achieved. However, continued use under medical guidance is recommended by a doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Exophas-MR Tablet?
Exophas-MR Tablet carries potential risk for individuals with known allergies to painkillers, or any of its ingredients and excipients. It is also essential to avoid using this medication in patients with a history of: Stomach ulcers, active or recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding, heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease.
Can Exophas-MR Tablet be taken with vitamin B-complex?
Exophas-MR Tablet can be co-administered with Vitamin B-complex preparations. While Exophas-MR helps manage pain, Vitamin B-complex can address potential nutritional deficiencies that might contribute to your symptoms.
Can the use of Exophas-MR Tablet cause damage to kidneys?
Prolonged use of Exophas-MR Tablet may lead to kidney damage. This occurs as painkillers reduce levels of prostaglandins in the body, which normally protect the kidneys from harm. Long-term use is not recommended for individuals with existing kidney problems.
Will Exophas-MR Tablet be more effective if taken in higher doses?
Increasing dosage of Exophas-MR Tablet will not enhance its effectiveness and may lead to increased side effects. Consult your doctor for a reevaluation if symptoms worsen.
Can the use of Exophas-MR Tablet cause damage to liver?
Paracetamol, an active ingredient in Exophas-MR Tablet, can cause liver damage, especially at higher doses. Additionally, alcohol consumption with this medication might further increase your risk of liver damage. This medicine should ideally be avoided by individuals with pre-existing liver disease. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience early signs of liver problems like fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing skin or eyes, and abnormal liver enzyme levels.
