Deriva-Bpo Gel is a prescription medicine used to treat acne by removing the dead layer of the skin, stopping the growth of bacteria, and preventing accumulation of sebum. Deriva-Bpo Gel is a combination of two medicines: Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide, which treats acne (pimples). It is used to remove the dead layer of the skin, stop the growth of bacteria, and prevent accumulation of sebum. It is also used to unblock the pores and allow natural exfoliation of the outer layers of skin.
Deriva-Bpo Gel is a combination of two medicines: Adapalene and Benzoyl Peroxide, which treats acne (pimples). Adapalene is a form of vitamin A and Benzoyl Peroxide is a keratolytic medicine. Together they prevent accumulation of the sebum (skin's natural oil), unblock the pores and allow natural exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. Benzoyl Peroxide additionally penetrates into the skin and kills acne-causing bacteria.
What are the instructions for storing and disposing of Deriva-Bpo Gel?
Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of unused medicine properly; do not allow pets, children, or other people to consume it.
Can I use Deriva-Bpo Gel as a spot treatment (single pimple)?
Deriva-Bpo Gel is not a single-pimple treatment. It should be applied evenly to the entire face. Using it once daily may help manage your acne.
How long does Deriva-Bpo Gel take to work?
Improvement may take up to 2-3 weeks. While Deriva-Bpo Gel can lead to significant results, it might take time for those changes to appear. Use the medication as directed and consult your doctor if your symptoms don't improve or worsen.
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying unless hands are the affected area.
- Apply it to the affected area once a day at bedtime.
- It makes your skin more sensitive toward sunlight. Apply sunscreen or wear protective clothing while stepping out.
- Avoid getting it in your eyes or mouth. If this happens, rinse with water immediately.
- Do not apply to broken, sunburnt or sensitive areas of skin. Inform your doctor if you notice unusual dryness, redness, and peeling of the skin.
- Be careful when applying Deriva-Bpo Gel to large areas since it can bleach hair, clothing, and furnishings upon contact.
